Anxiety Concerns
In our office, we understand that treatment and procedures may sound intimidating, our goal is to do what we can to ease any worries or concerns by educating each patient on their specific treatment plan. We value conversation and building relationships. Along with comprehensive care, we offer treatment to ease in-chair anxiety and pain management. Your comfort and trust come first.
Pre-Appointment Medication (Anxiolytics)
Dentistry has quite a “track record” for inducing anxiety. Our dental team is always conscientious and aware of our patients comfort levels. In order to aid with this, anti-anxiety premedication may be indicated before an appointment. Combining the factors of medication, a relaxing environment, and a mindful approach from the dental team, we can create a comfortable visit for patients dealing with many forms of dental anxiety. Note that a patient escort is required when using anxiolytics.
Nitrous Oxide
The common term for nitrous oxide is “laughing gas.” Nitrous acts as a mild sedative as it safely and effectively manages pain and anxiety during dental treatment. The nitrous is odorless and delivered through a nasal cannula in conjunction with oxygen. The oxygen you receive is at a higher concentration than the oxygen found in normal ambient air, thus keeping your oxygen levels well saturated during treatment.
An important note: you do not need an escort to and from the office. Once the nitrous is ceased, the sedative state will end and a normal state is brought about within minutes. Ask our team about how we can better accommodate you for your next visit.
